Phyllis Baker has been singing Barbershop most all of her life.
She started in a family quartet while her parents were members of Barbershop and Sweet Adelines choruses. she began singing in quartets in High School and thorugh the years has won 3 first place quartet honors.
She was also the director for the Pride of Pinellas Chorus in Florida and she took the group to 6 Regional Championships. Additioinally, the chorus placed 12th in the world in International Chorus Competition.
The Smokie Mountain Melodies chorus roped her in way back in 2006 and the Blairsville-based group has been performing under her direction for almost five years.
